North Perth is in the works to be getting a science center with some unique twists.

North Perth council looked over the final report of a feasibility study and now is taking time to make decisions to support the project such as donating a piece of land some financial support which has been requested.

Jillian Lewis, chair of the steering committee for the Huron-Perth AG Science Centre Project says offers something different to North Perth.

“Provide additional programming and options for kids aside from sports. We have some great sports programming in place but there isn’t a whole lot for kids in arts, sciences or technology.” said Lewis

Lewis added bringing the science center to North Perth could continue to boost local shops

“It would be really great in our community to have something else that would be a draw to our community. It could bring in tourists to help out our restaurants and local businesses in town.”

The hopeful center will add in the unique touch of an agriculture science center along with a kids zone.
