Green Party leader and Guelph MPP Mike Schreiner says he wants time to think with his fellow constituents and friends across the party before considering a leadership run and party change to the Liberals.
Many have signed on a letter requesting Schreiner consider running for the leader of the Ontario Liberal party, expressing concerns shared about the current government and the call for action.
In a response Schreiner says he has had no ambition to lead any party other than the Green Party but given the unique way of the letter, wants time to think before taking action.
Not all Liberal members are on board with the move however such as Nathaniel Erskine-Smith who calls the letter a hail mary that won’t work to regrow the party or make it a contender in the next election.
