The Provincial government announced this afternoon that schools across the Province will remain closed for the remainder of the current school year.

The reasoning behind it was given the risk of a rise in case numbers as a result of vaccinated students and teachers being back in the classroom. Variants were also given a supporting reason for the reliance of online learning for the rest of the current school year.

They are focusing on the return of outdoor activities for children such as summer camps, day camps and more to ensure the mental health of the children.

Parents will also see additional supports for themselves and their children including an already announced 31 million for mental health initiatives for youth.

The upgrading of ventilation in schools was said to continue be a priority in the preparations for the next academic year.
