Salvation Army Heads Into Second Year of Harvest of Hope

Various classes planned, including a planting course

The Salvation Army is holding its second year of the Harvest of Hope educational garden.

The garden provides fresh produce for the Salvation Army Food Bank as well as a place to offer locals to learn more about gardening.

This will mark the first full year for Harvest of Hope as last year’s first season was shortened.

Caroline Saunders, coordinator for the food bank says they’ve always wanted to make use of their location on Main Street for food production.

Saunders, who’s been with the Salvation Army since 2020 has a background in urban Agriculture.

Various classes to teach residents more about gardening is planned throughout the season with some already taken place.

A planting course will be held on May 30th.
