Road Safety Week Results in for Perth County

Perth County OPP laid over 100 charges during initiative

From May 18th to May 24th Perth County OPP participated in the Provincial Road Safety Week Traffic Safety Initiative.

This campaign involved proactive enforcement of the “Big 4” driving offenses of aggressive driving/speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving and seatbelt usage through Perth County.

These offenses continue to be contributing factors in serious motor vehicle collisions that occur on Ontario roadways.

Perth County OPP conducted a wide variety of enforcement on local roadways in conjunction with RIDE spot checks.

Perth County OPP laid over 100 charges during the initiative including:

  • Speeding – 88
  • Fail to Yield – 5
  • Failure to properly Wear Seatbelts – 4
  • Stunt Driving – 2
  • Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle – 1
  • Careless Driving – 1
  • Distracted Driving – 1
  • Warn Range Suspensions – 1
