Drayton Deputy Fire Chief, Daryl Brodhaecker and Moorefield Deputy Fire Chief Tom Wood were honoured during a council meeting in Mapleton who both have retired.
During the meeting, Mayor Gregg Davidson says they have two of the best leaving and two more to fill their shoes.
Eric Deckert and Jeremy Moore have taken the roles as Deputy Fire Chiefs.
Davidson says a lot of people don’t realize that to be a volunteer firefighter you have to take the courses of a regular, full time firefighter which takes away a lot of weekends from family.
