The Remembrance Day Ceremony in Listowel will still go as planned every year but with some tweaks. Most ceremonies across Canada are going virtual. MP for Perth-Wellington John Nater says its important to stay home. Those that we are thanking and remembering are those that are most at risk during these COVID times.

“This year the cruel irony of COVID-19 is that those who would normally be at those services are those that are the most vulnerable.” said Nater

Nater added we shouldn’t forget about our poppies. Just because we might not be at any gatherings this year doesn’t make the importance any less.

“It’s that act of remembrance for those who served our country so proudly. This year is the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II.”

Residents are asked to stay at home and watch online from the Listowel Legions Facebook page. They’ll be live from the Cenotaph.
