The recent blizzard that ravaged travel plans and travel across the province also reportedly prevented the timely collection of milk at some Ontario dairy farms., forcing some operators to waste their product.
Some farms took to social media to report dumping milk down the drains due to not being able to travel off the farm.
One such producer was Rob Vanden Hegel of Seaforth who shared a photo of his dump saying it was the first time he’s ever had to do such a thing adding it was one heck of a snow storm.
Another producer said it was the first time in 33 years of being in the business they’ve had to dump milk.
