After almost 40 years of service across various municipalities and 30 served as a firefighter, North Huron, Morris-Turnberry and Huron East Fire Chief Marty Bedard is retiring.
Bedard first started as a firefighter in 1993 in Seaforth where he later became Fire Chief of Huron East in 2003 which he has held since then.
Marty was named Fire Chief in North Huron in 2018 then a year later, for Morris-Turnberry.
Bedard says at least for now, he intends to lay back and take it easy for a while.
Kent Readman has been named as the newest Fire Chief.
