As measles continues to spread across Ontario, Huron-Perth Public Health is urging summer camps and program providers to take measures to protect the health of children and staff.
Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth Public Health says vaccination is important for camp participants as its the best way to prevent the infection.
Public health says camps and providers should communicate with parents the importance of immunization, identifying measles symptoms and follow protocols for suspected cases and understanding reporting requirements and procedures for managing cases and contacts.
