Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health has shared information for 2023 on the number of drug related incidents.
Public health’s Substance Harm Information and Education Dashboard says there 439 suspected drug related incidents in Wellington County and Guelph, an increase from 374 in 2022.
There was also an increase in deaths from suspected drug poisoning with 27, up from 22 in 2022.
In a release, Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy says every person who uses substances is on their own path and has unique needs and need access to a wide range of service to keep them safer.
