According to experts who have been advising the Ontario government say the COVID-19 vaccination program in long-term care and retirement homes saved hundreds of lives and prevented thousands of new cases.
The report says after the eight week vaccine program which started in December, COVID-19 infections were reduced by 89 percent among long term care residents and 79 percent from workers.
The report says more than 2600 infections, 250 hospitalizations and 615 deaths were prevented.
