Province offers advanced return to play for pro and elite athletes

Framework is in advance of broader return outlined in Roadmap to Reopen

The Provincial government has released their framework for select professional and elite amateur sports league sand events that they must meet in order for safe return to play.

Lisa MacLeod Minister of Sports Tourism and Culture announced today that they remain committed to protecting the health and well being of athletes and they support a return to play that is safe, evidence based and gradual.

This plan is in advance of the broader return to play for most amateur and recreational sports enabled through the Roadmap to Reopen.

Key elements of this advance framework include private Covid-19 screening and testing, assigned cohorts with limited or no interaction between others and individual control measures such as physical distancing and use of face covering when not training or competing.
