The Provincial Government announced additional funding for the support of local hospitals in Perth-Wellington and the operations of CT machines to increase access to them and decrease the waitlists for usage.

Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae said the combined 2 million dollars in additional funding will help reduce wait times and ensure patients continue receiving high-quality care close to home.

Part of the funding will also allow additional surgeries including neurosurgeries, orthopedic surgeries such as hip and knee replacements, gynecological surgeries as well as cataract, hernia and pediatric surgeries among others.

The funding breakdown sees Listowel Memorial Hospital receiving a combined just over $680,000 in additional funding while the Stratford General is set to receive just under $1.4 million dollars.
