Province extends stay-at-home order to June 2nd

Order had been set to expire on May 19th

The Premier held a press conference today to announce the extension of the stay-at-home order.

The order was set to expire on May 19.

The announcement today extends the order an additional 2 weeks and sets the new expiry of the order for June 3rd.

The reason given was the existing levels of ICU capacity in area hospitals and the slow decline in new cases across the Province.

The ramping up of vaccinations continues in Ontario with millions of doses arriving in Canada each week.

The Premier also made note of what he called “porous” border measures with 1/3 of air travelers not being forced to quarantine for 3 days at an airport hotel. Land border measures he also said were inadequate.
