The Ontario government announced today funding to strengthen french language education through a new four year strategy.
The plan will see new recruitment, training and retention for french language teachers.
The move is being made to address the ongoing shortage of french teachers and to make sure there is access to high quality french language education in the public education system.
The move is seen to also have positive impacts on French as a Second Language programs in the english languageĀ education system.
Ontario is set to invest $12.5 million dollars over 4 years on the initiative.
