Province announces Support Programs for Businesses Impacted by Current Health Measures

Relief is in the form of a Business Costs Rebate and Grace Period for Various Provincially Administered Taxes

The Provincial Government announced through the Minster of Finance new support programs for businesses impacted by public health measures put in place as a response to the Omicron variant.

The supports include the Business Costs Rebate and a 6 month interest and penalty free period to make payments onto most provincially administered taxes.

Minister Bethlenfalvy said in the release that they recognize the measures will impact businesses and that’s why they introduced the new supports which will put money directly into the hands of business during this critical time.

The Business Cost Rebate sees eligible businesses receive rebate payments equal to half of their property tax and energy costs they incur during the current capacity limits.

Eligible businesses include restaurants, small retailers and gyms.

A full list they say will be ready through a program guide mid next month.
