Province and Feds Investing Into Agriculture

Perth-Wellington to receive $560,000

A joint investment from the provincial and federal government through the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) will help support farmers and agri-food businesses.

The $7.3 million investment will fund projects to increase food safety, accelerate sector innovation and help farmers bring new products to market and help grow business.

Of the funding, Perth-Wellington will receive $580,954.40 to support projects in all municipalities within the area.

MPP Randy Pettapiece saying “We want to ensure they have the resources they need to continue being successful. That is why this funding is important.”

Since June 2018, both the federal and provincial governments have committed over $100 million in cost sharing support to have more than 5000 projects through the CAP to help Ontario farmers, processors, businesses and sector organizations continue to grow.
