There could be an impact for downtown parking in Listowel in the near future with a handful of lots on the market.
In January, a sale of lots on Inkerman Street West, Main Street West and Argyle Avenue North were put up by CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis).
The sale could present an impact on parking, mainly on the west side of Argyle and the west of Smith’s Market Square, an area often used for residents to park.
At this time it’s uncertain if the sale could impact the lots and make way for future development with North Perth council monitoring the sale.
Mayor Todd Kasenberg speaking on the other lands for sale says they are desirable locations at the heart of Listowel and viable to any buyer.
Kasenberg adds he doesn’t see a significant shift in land use but adds the Municipality would entertain applocations for the same use as is practice.
