June marks Pride Month.
Many municipal and federal buildings alongside businesses will be flying the pride flag throughout the month, including the majority of Avon Maitland District School Board elementary schools.
The school board saying the flag will fly not only to signal their schools are a safe space for everyone but also aligning with their vision statement and guiding principles of inclusion for staff and students.
The pride flag will fly at all secondary schools.
