Ontario Premier Doug Ford will be joined by Minister of Health Christine Elliot, Minister of Digital Government Kaleed Rasheed and Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore for an announcement this afternoon.
It’s likely the Ford government will announce a provincial proof of vaccination certificate program which has been hinted at since the start of the week.
Reporters in Queens Park have said from sources this is the expected announcement.
Previously an announcement was scheduled for Tuesday but during a cabinet meeting a full agreement couldn’t be reached.
Proof of vaccination certificates have been used in other areas of the country such as Quebec which are required to enter certain establishments such as restaurants.
Premier Ford will speak this afternoon at 1pm.
