Matthew Rae for the Ontario Conservatives is looking to keep the streak going of having Perth-Wellington stay blue.
Rae was first elected in 2022, taking over for Randy Pettapiece who retired. Over the course of his first few years,
Rae served as an assistant for a handful of ministries. Rae says over $200 million in net new provincial funding has been secured for Perth-Wellington towards healthcare, education and infrasutcutre.
Rae says they are doing more to address healthcare locally in the area
“The expansion in primary care. The Listowel-Wingham Family Health Team received $800,000 to expand primary care along with Minto-Mapleton and over 3500 families are now able to access primary care locally because our government investments. If the PC party is re-elected we are committed to spending $1.8 billion over the coming few years to ensure every Ontarian who wants access to a primary care provider whether a family physician or nurse practitioner will be able to get that. It’s a very ambitious goal and I will continue to advocate for that if re-elected.” said.
When it comes to addressing housing, Rae says its more than just building the home themselves.
“I know locally, Listowel in particular they received over $2 million for the Wallace Ave North reconstruction. I know people don’t think of roads equating to housing but this will help unlock 600 homes in Listowel. $11 million total came to Perth-Wellington recently to help over 2000 homes get built in our rural communities.”
