Perth East Councillor Herlick set to Bring Notice of Motion on Electronic/Telephone Voting Tuesday

In the motion Herlick brings up items such as concerns of voter packages and who received them, difficulty in logging in, hacking as a possibility, telephone voting difficulties and a request to have paper balloting return in future elections.

The Township of Perth East is set to hold a council meeting on Tuesday, November 1st.

The meeting will be the final meeting of the current council before the inaugural meeting of the next term occurs on November 15th.

One item on the agenda for the November 1st meeting is by outgoing Councillor Daryl Herlick.

Herlick is bringing forward a Notice of Motion on Electronic Voter System Integrity concerns.

In the motion Herlick brings up items such as concerns of voter packages and who received them, difficulty in logging in in which he says caused a hindrance and was discouraging at times, hacking as a possibility, telephone voting difficulties experienced by Herick himself in his casting of his ballot and a request to have paper balloting return in future elections.

The Council meeting is set to begin on Tuesday, November 1st at 7pm.

Herlick was defeated in the recent Municipal Election in Perth East with Former Township Mayor & Deputy Mayor Bob McMillan unseating him by 14 votes.

McMillian finished with 248 and Herlick with 234.

Katie Anderson came in third of the three at 169 votes.
