Perth County OPP was among one of 21 successful police services to be awarded the Preventing Auto Thefts Grant.
The Ontario government is investing $18 million over the next three years to help police combat and prevent auto thefts and keep property safe.
Perth County OPP will see $860,000 for equipment, personnel and training over the next three years to support work in auto theft prevention.
From 2014-2021, there has been a 72% hike in auto thefts across the province.
