Perth County OPP have wrapped up their end of Canada Road Safety Week which ran from June 21st-July 1st.
OPP continued to put a heavy focus of the “big 4” of accidents across the roadways over the long weekend which included impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and not wearing a seat belt.
Over the campaign, Perth County OPP laid 217 traffic charges which included;
- 158 speeding charges
- 3 stunt driving charges
- 3 impaired driving charges
- 1 distracted driving charges
- 9 seatbelt charges
- 1 Cannabis Control Act – traffic related
- 35 other Provincial traffic offence charges
Police also conducted 27 ride programs and responded to 12 crashes.
