The Town of St. Marys, City of Stratford, North Perth, Perth East, Perth South and West Perth are partnering to host a Candidate Information Session for the 2022 Municipal and School Board Trustee elections.
The free virtual educational event will take place on Wednesday, April 6th at 7pm.
It is open to any resident of St. Marys, Stratford or Perth County who are interested in running in the upcoming election.
The session will be held through Zoom. An in-person viewing of the virtual event will also be held at the Perth East Recreation Complex at 40 Temperance Street in Milverton. Doors will open there at 6:30pm.
The session will be led by members of the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
Discussion topics will include the roles and responsibilties of elected officials and staff, eligiibility rules, the nomination process, campaign finances, compliance audits, voters lists and voting proxy scrutineers, recounts and resources.
Registration is not required to attend the event.
