Perth County council has passed a 3.13 per cent cost of living increase for council and staff.
A report from Corey Bridges, the Director of Finance and Treasurer presented a cost of living adjustment which will take effect on January 1st 2025.
In the report, inflation was at its lowest over the last 12 months in June 2024 at a rate of 2.7 per cent.
The Bank of Canada is looking to keep inflation at 2 per cent which would be the midpoint of the 1-3 per cent inflation control target range.
Council approved the rate as an increase to the non union salary grid and remuneration for council and committees which will take effect at the start of 2025.
