PC Connect’s Rural Route Service will be discontinued in 2025.
The pilot project will end on March 31st of next year which since it first launched was fully funded by the province’s Community Transportation Grant Program with all funding scheduled to be utilized on or before the end of service date.
While the rural route ends, PC Connect routes 1,2 and 3 for service between Stratford, St Marys, London, Kitchener-Waterloo and North Perth will not be impacted by this decision.
Recently elected Perth County Warden Doug Kellum says the cost to continue operating the service was not sustainable through fare revenue alone and with budget pressures facing council, it was decided to end the service.
