Palmerston Resident Arrested After Fleeing Police

Huron County OPP have charged a Palmerston resident with a slew of offences after failing to stop.

An officer was conducting patrols in Wroxeter at around 10:16am on January 10th when a traffic stop on a minivan was initiated.

The driver the Dodge failed to stop for police and sped away.

The driver then turned around, driving directly at the police officer who was parked with their emergency lights activated.

The officer was able to avoid being hit by taking evasive actions. With the help of other officers an arrest was able to be made.

As a result a 35 year old faces multiple charges including Dangerous Operation, Possession of Methamphetamine, Flight from a Peace Officer, Operation While Impaired and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order. The accused will appear in Goderich court on February 27th.
