The Town of Minto shared word of the return of the annual Christmas Hamper program by the Palmerston Food Bank.
The Food Bank says is committed to helping those in need in the community and with the Christmas season often a time of extreme hardship for some they are aiming to do what they can.
Last year they started a successful program of Gift Cards for food bank clints, with donations from Foodland, fast food outlets, Walmart and Giant Tiger appreciated.
They are asking this year for donations of either cash or reasonably local gift cards in $20 to $25 denominations.
These smaller amounts make it easier to ensure hampers are equal for all.
Gift cards unfortunately cannot receive tax receipts they advise due to CRA regulations.
Anyone in need of a Christmas hamper this holiday season is asked to call 519-417-4774 and request by December 1st.
Pickup day is Saturday, December 17th by appointment only.
