Reservations for campsites with the Grand River Conservation Authority opened this past Tuesday and already ran into troubles with their online portal due to the volume of those trying to book.
A surge nearly 20 times higher than previous years caused many struggling to book a site but already has processed thousands of nights. Since 9am on Tuesday, over 9000 campsite nights have been booked.
GRCA areas are operating at 50 percent capacity this season with campers limited to a maximum of six people onsite.
Those looking to book over the phone will be able to starting May 1st when phone booking opens up.
