It was a busy and successful Saturday for the Middle Maitland Rejuvenation Committee for their annual river clean up in North Perth.
The committee was joined with a handful of volunteers braving the weather conditions to clean up the river.
In total, 1125.94lbs of garbage was removed from the river with the municipality supporting by picking up and taking garbage to the landfill.
The committee says its unfortunate so much waste was taken from the river with trash and yard waste.
Officials are reminding residents compost can be dropped off for free at the Elma Landfill.
