Outbreak declared at Palmerston Hospital with 5 cases

5 cases have been diagnosed at the Hospital so far

 

Wellington Dufferin Guelph public health have declared an outbreak at Palmerston and District Hospital after four inpatients and 1 staff member tested positive for Covid-19.

The hospital is not allowing inpatient visitors apart from very limited, special circumstances and obstetrical services will be redirected for the time being as a result of the outbreak. Those patients should check with their doctor to determine the plan.

This is the first Covid-19 outbreak at a Hospital in Wellington County.

The Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging, Ambulatory Care and Day Surgeries not requiring admission remain open.

Patients should call ahead to confirm their appointments as existing plans may have changed.
