OPP continue to warn the public about investing with private cryptocurrency companies given the increase of scams.
Some cryptocurrency tracing companies are not legitimate and target those who have already been victims of fraud claiming to help them get their money back and may ask for payment for their services resulting in a larger loss.
Its important to note actual cryptocurrency tracing services do not have the power to freeze or seize funds.
OPP say to always beware of unexpected calls or texts, take caution from those who pressure you to act quickly and never provide anyone with sensitive information such as your wallet’s private key or seed phrase.
