As we head into the Long Weekend, OPP are reminding boat enthusiasts to be safe across the waterways.
Wellington County OPP are promoting Safe Boating Week and will be out patrolling the water making sure safety is on top of everyone’s mind.
OPP Constable Joshua Cunningham says they’ve seen drownings over the last few years in local lakes where a life jacket could have changed the situation and says operators need to be aware of dangers when you aren’t wearing a life jacket.
Safe Boating Week runs from May 14th-20th.
