With another busy long weekend ahead, OPP are reminding driver to pay attention to whats happening on the roads and move over for emergency vehicles.

Despite the province’s Move Over Law, hundreds of drivers still ignore the law according to police who in 2022 laid 846 charges against drivers who were in a position to move over but failed to do so.

In 2023, 600 such charges have been laid.

The Move Over Law carries a fine from $490-2000 plus three demerit points upon conviction with fines as high as $4000 and possible jail time and suspension of your license of up to two years.
