OPP investigating report of 2 vehicles racing near Dashwood

Police are trying to identify a possible second car involved in the incident

Huron County OPP continues to investigate a street racing incident that took place yesterday afternoon near Dashwood.

At approximately 1:30pm yesterday a Huron County OPP officer was conducting radar patrols on Dashwood Road near Dashwood when he observed a compact car speed westbound toward Grand Bend.

Not only did the officer measure the speed of the racing vehicle in excess of 160 km per hour in a 90 km zone, the officer observed the driver passing several vehicles in a reckless manner.

A traffic stop ensued and the driver was subsequently charged.

A 21 year old male of Mississauga has been charged with performing a stunt speeding in excess of 50 km over the speed limit.

He will have to attend Provincial Offences Court in Goderich later this summer to answer to the charge.

Huron County OPP is attempting to identify a possible second vehicle involved that was believed to be racing the compact car. The second involved vehicle is described as a black sedan.
