Wellington County OPP along with Wellington North and Centre Wellington Fire and Guelph Wellington Paramedics responded this morning at 6:55am to a single vehicle collision on Side Road 3 West in Wellington North Township.
Preliminary investigation revealed that an SUV was travelling on Side Road 3 when it collided with a guardrail before leaving the roadway and becoming partially submerged upside down in a body of water.
The vehicle was removed from the water and the driver located inside and late pronounced deceased.
Wellington County OPP along with the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement and Technical Collision Investigation Units continue to investigate the collision.
Side Road 3 West between Wellington Road 6 and Side Road 2 West were closed for the investigation and have since reopened.
