Huron County OPP was patrolling on November 5th at around 2:07pm southbound on London Road, almost being involved in a collision with a pickup truck.

The driver of the truck was observed swerving into the same lane as the officer, almost causing a head on collision as the officer also saw the driver using a hand held device while driving.

A traffic stop was initiated which led to a roadside screening. A breath test resulted in a failure with the driver taken into custody.

As a result a 24 year old of South Huron was charged with Operation While Impaired as well as offenses under the Highway Traffic Act, Liqour License Control Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused will appear in Goderich court next month.
