OPP and OFSC Urge Snowmobilers Ride Safely

Seven warnings given over the weekend on 269 riders checked

 

Huron County OPP and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs are reminding riders to continue riding safely this winter.

OPP and West Region Highway Safety Division officers were on patrol across trails on the weekend. Many snowmobilers have been obeying the laws with 269 riders checked and seven warnings being given. One operator was charged with failing to wear a helmet.

OFSC is reminding riders a trail permit is required to ride on any federation of snowmobile club trails. Snowmobilers should also follow the trail map colours, accessing green, being cautious on yellow and not riding on red trail map colours.
