The Province announced today that Ontario will enter the Stage 1 of their reopening plan on Friday. The move will allow non-essential retail to reopen for the first time in months and also will allow patios to reopen for bars and restaurants in time for weekend customers.
The target date had previously been June 14th but it was moved forward following dropping Covid-19 case numbers that saw 525 added today. this was the lowest single day numbers since September of last year.
Stage 1 allows retail stores to re-open with 15 percent capacity. Outdoor gatherings and organized public events are allowed with up to 10 people.
Stage 2 represents a more broad reopening move but will not take place until at least 21 days after Stage 1 begins.
This means the earliest that could happen is around Canada Day.
