Ontario providing funding for local Initiatives in Huron Bruce

Program will aim at both better informing residents & increasing tourism in areas impacted

Local MPP for Huron Bruce Lisa Thompson announced two local projects that will receive funding through the Province’s Rural Economic Development Program.

Brockton is getting just under $12,000 to develop an app to improve communications with residents while Huron-Kinloss is receiving just over $12,0000 to create and install four murals in the downtowns of Lucknow, Point Clark and Ripley.

The murals are hoped to help increase tourism activities in the areas.

Also announced is $5 million dollars Ontario is committing in cost-share funding to help rural communities implement additional economic growth plans to address the economic impact of Covid-19.

The next intake for funding in the program opens August 30, 2021.
