Ontario is looking to grow and expand the health care sector as part of its plan titled Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care.

The announcement marks three key pillars in the plan, faster access to care, expanding the role of pharmacists for care closer to home and removing barriers to bring in more health care workers to study and work in Ontario.

Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Rob Flack says these moves are unique to bring health care workers to Ontario.

“Ontario to become the first province in Canada to allow healthcare workers registered in other provinces and territories to come here and practice here.” said Flack

Flack who is also a parliamentary assistant to Lisa Thompson for the ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs says this move will push the future of addressing the current health care crisis one step at a time.

“What I like about this plan is it’s a $14 billion investment going forward into health care and we’re going to win the day. It’s going to take and effort and tons of investment but we have to start somewhere. More of the same just doesn’t work.” said Flack.
