Ontario hospitals have been given the green light to resume non-urgent surgeries as the number of those in hospital from COVID-19 declines.
Dr. David Williams says the issue of surgeries being halted since April 20th will close as daily new numbers, hospitalizations and those in the ICU from the virus continues be on a downward trend.
A spokeswoman for Health Minister Christine Elliot says the return to non-urgent surgeries won’t be all across the province.
Surgeries will only continue for select hospitals where admitted patients from COVID-19 remain at its lowest.
