Ontario’s public elementary school teachers have voted 95 per cent in favour of a strike.
The elementary teachers federation of Ontario has said a strike mandate wouldn’t mean teachers would be walking off the job but it will add pressure on the government to reach a deal with teachers at the bargaining table.
The union representing public high school teachers has agreed to a bargaining process with negotiations going until October 27th then send any issues to be resolved by arbitration.
Strike votes with the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association will continue today.
