Education Minister Stephen Leece and Provincial Medical Officer of Health David Williams held a press conference today to announce addition funding for PPE, summer learning improvements, improved air filtering in schools and more.
The $381 million dollars will also be used to offer more devices to students who are taking part in virtual learning during the pandemic.
Staffing was also a focus of the announcement with the government now allowing school boards to open supply teacher positions to upper-year university students in education programs.
Prerequisites will be their grades in their educational program and also them having at least some in-class experience and be on-track to graduate by the end of this year.
