The new Listowel Parkette has been opened up.
The new parkette in the parking lot on Main Street by Ward & Uptigrove and TD Bank had a ribbon cutting earlier this morning which has been a year in making since it was first approved by council last summer.
North Perth accepted funding support for the parkette from the BIA and Libro Credit Union for the project.
Now named the Character Square, the parkette will help beautify North Perth and as Mayor Todd Kasenberg says can be a factor in workplace attraction.
“The bigger picture here, I keep asking myself the same question, do you want to see more doctors in our community? Do you want to see more healthcare professionals here? They have a pretty big range of choices on where to settle as do many other serious professionals.” said Kasenberg.
Construction costs for the parkette came under the planned budget of $179,620.
The municipality adds they look forward to the postive impact this space will bring to the community.
