North Perth council has approved its Housing Action Plan for the purpose to apply for funding with the Housing Accelerator Fund.
The HAFÂ offers $4 billion in funds over a three year program period which North Perth meets the criteria to apply for being a population over 10,000 in a lower tier municipal government.
Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Jessica McLean says this whole plan goes as high as the county level which will have some hand in hand work to determine HAF funding.
“Work also continues with Watsons and Associates on the Perth County Housing Needs Assessment. Watsons will be providing staff with the growth targets and housing supply calculations in the coming days which is required for our HAF submission.” said McLean
McLean adds even if North Perth is unsuccessful in its application to the Housing Accelerator Fund, the Housing Action Plan will still be useful for the municipality.
