North Perth held a public meeting regarding the one way trail on Wallace Avenue South.

Residents were invited to look into the update of the trail and speak their minds on the one way.

Julia Salvini, Municipal Engineer for North Perth says the majority of those who are providing feedback are those who live in the south end of Listowel.

“Some of the things are tied directly to the pilot. The difficulty that traffic is having getting from the south side of town to the north.” said Salvini.

While some residents who spoke have seen the positives from the one way on Wallace, some residents have seen the negative.

Fran and Rob Moore who live on the south side of town haven’t seen real benefit who have had to take other routes just to get north due to the congestion they’ve seen.

“Right on red is a joke, you can’t do that so I had to go through the parking lot by Ward & Uptigrove so I could get to where I wanted to go. It’s just ridiculous you’re zig-zagging around town to try to get north on a high traffic area.” said Rob Moore.

A variety of concerns from residents provided from a survey included speeding on Main Street, Illegal parking and increased traffic on Elma.
