In hopes to keep rural transit going in North Perth, the municipality is looking at a funding application which heads to council tonight.

The Ontario Transit Investment Fund is aimed to help municipalities in the province to build or expand transit services which can transition over time to a financially sustainable operating model.

The PC Connect Rural Route service wrapped up operations on March 31st with the municipality currently adding tot he operating costs of Route 1 to connect Listowel with Elmira and Kitchener-Waterloo.

An agreement with North Perth, Stratford and St Marys for this partnership will expire at the end of the year.

As staff look at funding options, a request of council endorsement for this application comes to the chambers.
